Motorhome areas in France: how they work
Aires de camping-car are everywhere in France, often free, sometimes with water and power. Here is how to use them.
France has more than 4,000 aires de camping-car, motorhome areas run by towns, farms and campsites. Some are free car parks with a tap, others have power and showers.
What you find there
- Drinking water and a drain for grey and black water
- Sometimes power, by the hour or the night
- A place to sleep for one to three nights
Vans welcome
Most areas take vans and motorhomes alike. Caravans and tents usually are not allowed.
